The Old Star Inn in Cheshire has been recreated in Brazil after winning McCoy's the 'pub to put on a plane to Rio' competition.

The crisp company opened a recreation of the traditional British pub as the World Cup got underway, with identical exterior and interior to the Cheshire pub, including wooden horse head signs, fireplace, pool table, darts board and wooden bar.

Fronted by Al Murray posing as a pub landlord, more than 2,000 pubs competed to be recreated by McCoy's and over 25,000 votes from pubgoers were cast.

The campaign also offered consumers a chance to win one of 15 pairs of trips to the establishment in Rio.
