An industry-wide initiative has been created to help pubs make the most of guest accommodation.
Inapub has teamed-up with the Association of Licensed Multiple Retailers (ALMR), BII, Stay in a Pub and Guestline for the Profitable Beds in Pubs campaign.
It will be launched at an event on November 8 and will focus on improving operations and driving revenue into pubs offering accommodation.
ALMR chief executive Kate Nicholls said: "There is a great deal of potential for pub accommodation to be a very lucrative revenue stream and the ALMR is looking forward to promoting improved levels of best practice and an increased focus on rooms for guests. We are looking to reframe the discussion around pub accommodation to promote staying in a pub as a feasible competitor to hotels."
The event at The Farmhouse Pub in Mackworth, Derby, will discuss the growing trend for licensees to increase their revenue through letting rooms and the addition of boutique style accommodation, online bookings, driving tourism, room rate optimisation and TripAdvisor reviews.
Inapub's Ed Davies (above) will kick off proceedings by talking about the customer journey for booking a room at a pub and how licensees can convert your online presence into bookings.
