The BII has revealed the six publicans still in with a chance of being named Licensee of the Year (LOYA) 2018.
The winner, who will be announced at The BII Summer Party in London next month, will be one of the following:
Kim Barker, The Ship Inn, Pentewan, Cornwall
Lee and Keris de Villiers, The Pig & Whistle, Wandsworth
Marc Duvauchelle, The Old Customs House, Portsmouth
Christopher Norfolk, The Elm Tree, Elmton, Derbyshire
Mark Shaw, The Castle Inn, Castle Donnington
Alex and Tanya Williams, Polgooth Inn, St Austell
Over the past six weeks, judges visited 12 semi-finalists to come up with the shortlist. The finalists will now be grilled by industry experts on a range of subjects including business development, people & training and financial awareness.
BII chief executive Mike Clist said "The BII Licensee of the Year competition has long been renowned for being the most rigorous of all the awards in licensed retailing and is the one that individual operators really want to win.
"We consistently see an extremely high standard of entrants and 2018 has been no exception, which gave the judges a tough challenge narrowing it down from our twelve fantastic semi-finalists to just six. Congratulations to all of the finalists - I wish them well in the final stage."
