The guide awarded its pub of the year to The Cock at Hemingford Grey, run by Oliver Thain and Richard Bradley.

The pub, in Cambridgeshire, has a public bar for drinking only and an adjacent restaurant space with Adnams Southwold, Brewsters Hophead and Oldershaw Grantham Stout on handpump, 20 wines mainly from the Languedoc-Roussillon region and Cromwell cider which is made in the village.

The pub was described by one guide reader as a 'fantastic pub with wonderful food and drink.'
