Around 200 apprentices from within the hospitality industry are joining together to attend the fourth annual Hospitality Apprenticeship Showcase.
The event will take place at the House of Commons on Tuesday, February 4 and will coincide with National Apprentice Week. The apprentices will get the opportunity to meet their local MP's as well as some big names from within the industry.
The apprenticeship teams will attend from companies, including Deltic, Beds & Bars, Global Brands UK, Greene King, HIT Training, Mitchells & Butlers, Marriott International, Marston's PLC, Stonegate Pub Company, Tennent's Caledonian Brewery, UK Hospitality, Umbrella Training, and PPHE Hotel Group.
All the apprentices work directly with the companies, as they launch their careers within hospitality, a sector that offers a varied range of roles and opportunities across the UK.
The industry supports 3.2m jobs, represents 10 per cent of the economy's employment, 6 per cent of businesses and 5 per cent of GDP, making hospitality the third largest private sector employer.
The Hospitality Apprenticeship Showcase puts on display the vibrant pub, bar, brewing, hotel and casual dining sectors during National Apprenticeship Week.
Chairman of the Perceptions Group and CEO of the multi-award-winning Beds & Bars business, Keith Knowles, said: "This event is about showcasing the hospitality industry and some of its up and coming stars.
"Hospitality is utterly unique in the UK job market. We have a huge range of diverse opportunities available, from the kitchen, to HR, marketing and finance."
Craig Parsons, apprenticeship manager at Fuller, Smith & Turner PLC, added: "Our apprentices are an amazing group of people and they inspire all of us at Fuller's.
"It is a real pleasure to be able to play such a pivotal role in their development. They are the Head Chefs of the future and having seen the creativity within them, I am excited about the future."
