As promised Melanie Sykes has returned as the face of Boddingtons.
Brewer AB InBev announced it would be bringing back the much-loved campaign last March and the first new TV ad is being launched today (18 October 2017), more than 20 years after the originals.
Called Tour De Formby the ad plays to the brand's northern roots with a parody of a modern sports ad and was shot by the original campaign director, Danny Kleinman.
Melanie Sykes said: "Shooting the new ad with Danny and Boddingtons was so much fun. It brought back really fond memories from working on the original ads, which I know hold a lot of nostalgia, not just for me but for many people.
"I never thought that anything could match up to the first time round, but I think this one could well be my favourite. I'm so happy with how it turned out and really can't wait to hear what other people think."
Boddington's is now brewed in Magor, South Wales and is a 3.5 per cent ABV golden bitter. As well as being given a big push here in the UK, the beer is currently exported to more than 20 countries including the US, Brazil and Japan.
This May AB InBev announced it was also bringing back the Bud frogs to launch Bud Light in the UK.
