Marston's is on the hunt for budding film makers to enter into its Beer Town Film Festival competition.
The competition is open to everyone, with the chance to win £500 cash for each category winner with a further £1,000 for the overall winner.
There are four categories to enter for short films (no longer than 20 mins).
- Fiction Short
- Documentary Short
- Promo and advertising (including music videos)
- Animated Short
Those set in and around pubs are to be encouraged - of course! - but also films made by women as only a fifth of entries are by females at the moment. The closing date for entries is March 31.
Check out some tips from one of the judges, Deborah Haywood, in the video above.
Jo Wyke from Marston's Brewery said: "These days with smart phone technology anyone can make short films. It would be great to get some pub-themed short stories or documentaries. How about a promo film or music video shot in a pub? We're not looking for Hollywood-budget epics or high tech visual effects, we want to see creativity in ideas, attention-grabbing storytelling or fascinating documentaries."
See the website for full details and get encouraging any future film stars in the making that are working in pubs before they make the big time.
