The brewery said the beer was bittersweet, much like the experience of supporting England in a World Cup attempt.

Called Three Hogs, the beer is a four per cent ABV golden ale, brewed with local Fuggles hops and British malts.

Hogs Back Brewery managing director, Rupert Thompson, said: "A pint of refreshing, easy-drinking English ale, specially brewed for the occasion, will be the perfect drink to celebrate the team's victories or commiserate over its losses."

Should Southgate's squad manage to defy the odds and reach the final, the brewery has pledged to give a pint of free beer to anyone visiting its brewery shop the day before (Saturday July 14).
