The frozen cocktail from Fryst combines three of 2018's key trends: unicorns, watermelon flavour and gin.

Fryst (pronounced "freest") is the frozen cocktail brand from Vimto Out Of Home. It is the sister brand to its Starslush frozen soft drink brand and can be made using the same equipment and flavours.

The non-alcoholic version, Unicorn Starslush, was launched earlier this year and has already proved a bestseller for the company.

This alcoholic version, Unicorn Sparkle, is made from one part gin and four parts Unicorn slush and was trialed at events this summer, including the Grand Prix at Silverstone, where it proved popular.

It will be available as a limited edition over the festive season.

"We've seen massive growth in the demand for frozen cocktails this year, which we're expecting to continue as we move into party season," said Ed Jones, senior customer marketing manager at Vimto Out of Home.

"They offer a fantastic point of difference for bars – and staff simply have to pour the base spirit, add the Fryst mix and serve. Simple."

Watermelon drinks are a growing trend, up 3.6 per cent in the last 12 months according to Vimto Out Of Home.

It recently emerged as the winning flavour in Global Brands' hunt for a new variant of VK, receiving 19,000 of the 35,000 votes.
