The results are in and beer is the most popular drink in the country... but 'no alcohol' has taken second place.
A survey of 2,079 Brits by Accor Hotels has revealed more people pick beer as their favourite tipple than any other drink.
In total, 17 per cent of those asked said beer was their number one choice. But there were discrepancies across the country.
In Newcastle, spirit with a mixer came out on top, Cardiff collectively opted for cocktails, and Southampton and Bristol went with cider.
Birmingham reflected the growing move towards dropping alcohol with the most popular choice being 'no alcohol', with beer in second place.
'No alcohol' was also the second most popular choice nationwide, with 14 per cent of people saying that they choose not to drink any alcohol at all.
Beer ranked either first or joint first in 10 out of he 15 cities surveyed.
The biggest beer loving city is Sheffield, were nearly a quarter of people (23.5 per cent) opted for it as their favourite.
The research also looked at British Beer & Pub Association pub figures versus population and found that Norwich is better served than anywhere else. It has a pub for every 918 people.
Edinburgh (971) and Liverpool (993) were second and third respectively.
