A handful of pubs are among the finalists in a competition looking to find the best scotch eggs in the country.
The 14 in the running to win the Scotch Egg Challenge include the Ealing Park Tavern, South Ealing; the Drapers Arms, Islington, and the Rat Inn, Hexham in Northumberland.
Contestants will enter the Traditional Egg category, to honour the more traditional scotch egg, or the Unconventional Egg category, where chefs can try their hand at reinventing the much-loved bar snack.
The last competition in 2015 was won by chef Calum Franklin of Holborn Dining Rooms for his white pudding and sausage creation in the Traditional category.
Nick Maloney of the Princess Victoria in Shepherds Bush was named winner in the Unconventional category with his Thai Scotch Egg.
The final will take place on February 8.
