Research reveals that diners want to eat doughnuts in your pub, just in time for National Doughnut Week.

70 per cent of diners, aged 18-35, said they would like to eat doughnuts in the pub, especially if outlets were running special promotions.

The research by Moy Park Foodservice also found that 60 per cent of respondents would like to see pubs and restaurants offering a choice of more US-themed desserts, such as doughnuts, on menus.

National Doughnut Week runs from May 6 to May 13.

“Where some may have thought that celebrations were consigned to cafes and coffee shops, our research tells us that, with the right products, consumer demand is there for less traditional sites such as pubs and restaurants to join the party,” explained Frannie Santos-Mawdsley, senior customer marketing manager, European Foodservice, Moy Park.

“Tellingly, our research shows that it is 18-35 year olds who are driving this demand. We’re here to tell pub and restaurant operators, particularly in the burgeoning casual dining market, that doughnuts and Americana equal profit.”
