An explosion in the number of vegans across the UK has led to foodservice firm Bidfood bringing new options to its Christmas range, it has announced.
The move was taken after research suggested there were now 3.5 million vegans in the UK – and the market was consistently growing.
The offer includes a number of plant-based nibbles and main courses as well as desserts, including Belgian chocolate and raspberry torte, a citrus traybake, and a lemon swirl cheesecake. Non-diary ice creams with flavours from blueberry to Swedish glace are also available.
Alongside the vegan options, the dessert menu also includes an espresso martini slice, and other flavours including salted caramel, mandarin and cranberry, and Buck's Fizz.
Frozen produce under the firm's Farmstead range includes new 'butchery-style' products, and the chilled options include a turkey roulade wrapped in prosciutto and filled with cranberry and apple stuffing as well as a turkey cushion with pomegranate and orange stuffing.
Laura Mason, campaign manager at Bidfood, said: "While the holiday season will always be about indulgence and fun festive flavours, there's more of a call than ever for products that reflect wider market trends.
"From world flavour influences, to vegan and free-from options, this year's collection is about catering for everyone."
