Time to ditch the hot dogs for a Po'boy? The top trending American dishes due to land in the UK have been revealed by McCain Foodservice.


The trends for 2019 have been included in the firm's "What's Hot USA" report, which advises pubs how to incorporate the trends into their food offer, driving footfall and spend.


It also provides specific insight on trends as well as ideas for dishes to put on your menu.


The report includes examples of popular trends such as meat-free and plant-based options as well as the emergence of creole flavours.


Specifically, it focuses on six areas that are currently trending States-side:


  • Curated food (e.g. food halls or markets with a specific range of dining outlets)
  • The New South (dishes and traditions of the south being reinvented by metropolitan chefs)
  • Family friendly
  • Craft beer
  • Modern Vegan
  • Po' boy (a fried seafood or beef sandwich from Louisiana)
