Welsh rockers the Stereophonics could be playing a gig in your pub as part of a competition with Brains.

Earlier this year the band teamed up with the Cardiff-based brewers to create Phonics ale.

And now any pub that buys two barrels of the beer before May 31 will automatically be entered into a draw that could see them win a 30-minute acoustic set.

Phonics, described by lead singer Kelly Jones as '"smooth, fruity and [with] a kick" has been a big success with 150,000 pints sold in the first two weeks since its launch at the beginning of March.

Bruce Newman, head of marketing at Brains, said: "Phonics ale is a perfect collaboration between two Welsh legends, and has proved to be phenomenally popular becoming our best-selling seasonal ale. Now we have the opportunity to offer a unique money can't buy prize with a intimate acoustic set with a BRIT award winning band."

Any pubs hoping to have Stereophonics perform at their pub can purchase Phonics by calling Brains on 02920 334703.
