One pub has broken the internet (nearly) by using its A-board to make a statement.

The sign blamed older people for Brexit, global warming and the housing market crash. It can be found outside the Colston Arms in Bristol.

A picture of it was tweeted by a local artist on social media, and the tweet has now received nearly 7,000 likes and 4,500 retweets.

The sign (below) reads: “Remember when we cried as kids and our parents said ‘we’ll give you something to cry about’? We thought we were getting a smack – instead, they destroyed the housing market, quadrupled uni fees, melted the ice caps and voted Brexit.”

Landlord, Paul Frost, told to the Bristol Post: “We get all sorts in this pub. The sign is just commentating on our times. It’s a flippant sign for serious issues. Some people who walk past it will resonate with, some it won’t.

“We are a proper pub where everybody is welcome and we try and add a bit of humour in these turbulent times.”

A-boards haven't always been best received. York City proposed to ban them from the streets last year, read this.
