Pub customers are being reminded that you can find love in the pub without having to swipe right.

In the run up to Valentine's Day, pub company Brakspear is running a 'Pub Love' competition to give customers the chance to win prizes in return for tales of passion.

To win, people simply have to share their stories of pub romance by either email or social media – using the hashtag #brakspearpublove.

Prizes up for grabs include Pinkster G&T for two, Laurent Perrier Rosé and a hamper full of drinks. Winners will be able to enjoy them in the pub where their romance began.

Pubs are being provided with heart-shaped beermats to promote the competition as well as graphics to use on websites and social channels.

Emma Sweet, Brakspear marketing manager, said: "People might be finding dates online through website apps these days, but in our experience, plenty of lasting relationships still start in the pub."

She added: "We thought it would be fun to celebrate pub romances around Valentine's Day and remind people that love affairs can start in their local."
