A team from German beer brand Krombacher visited more pubs in a day than any group of people before them.

The six intrepid souls started at the Earl of Camden in Camden Town, London, at 8am and finished at the Lord Moon of the Mall some 12 hours, 29 miles and 301 pubs later.

Their total of 303 pubs visited in 24 hours beats the official record of 250 held by a team in the USA.

However, they will not feature in the record books because they wanted all funds raised to go to the Licensed Trade Charity rather than pay thousands to fund an adjudicator.

Stephan Kofler, Krombacher UK sales and marketing director, said: "It was a fantastic, albeit pretty gruelling day but we're delighted to have hit the target of 300 and to have raised some money for an incredibly worthy cause."

Krombacher has raised in excess of £3,000 in the last three years for pub related charities.
