BT Sport will screen more than 20 matches in December and January.

Across December 10, 11 and 12, punters can watch coverage of Liverpool, Manchester City, Chelsea, Spurs, Manchester United, Arsenal, Wolves, Rangers and Celtic battling to make the knockout rounds of the UEFA Champions League and UEFA Europa League.

Every Premier League match on New Year's Day will be screened throughout the day which includes Arsenal v Manchester United plus Manchester City v Everton.

The first weekend in January sees the return of the Emirates FA Cup Third Round, one of the most popular weekends in the British football calendar when the Premier League clubs are often pitted against potential giant killers from the lower leagues.

Rugby fans can enjoy the best action with live coverage of Gallagher Premiership Rugby and every match from the final two rounds of the group stage of the Heineken Champions Cup.

Bruce Cuthbert, director of commercial customers at BT Sport, said: "BT Sport will welcome in 2020 with style as nine Premier League games are broadcast on New Year's Day with live football from 12.30pm through to nearly 10pm.

"With the likes of Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester City, Manchester United and Arsenal all featuring, customers will see the New Year start with a bang.

"Meanwhile, the first weekend of the New Year sees the return of the Emirates FA Cup Third Round, one of the most popular weekends in the British football calendar."
