Bootlegger Apple Beer is being touted as the "first genuine fruit spirit beer" in the UK.
Halewood International, which launched the Bootlegger brand with a clear un-aged grain spirit in 2012, says the addition perfectly captures the Prohibition Era vibe of the brand.
Targeted at 22 to 35-year-olds the 5.5 per cent ABV brew is a blend of white grain spirit and beer.
"Bootlegger Apple Beer will capitalise on the increasing consumer demand for spirit beers, whilst delivering innovation to the category as the first fruit offering," explained marketing director, Richard Clark.
"The Bootlegger brand has generated significant interest with its association to Prohibition, and a fruit flavoured spirit beer was a natural extension, as it captures the essence of the Prohibition era.
"The liquid also has a smooth taste which will appeal to both men and women who are attracted to the spirit and craft beer sectors, and are more likely to seek out beers with a unique flavour combination."
The launch will be promoted across the on-trade with PoS, while key venues will be supported with a multi-channel campaign to boost trial of the drink.
