Whisky Bourbon and other countries

It seems like change has been a constant in the spirits market over the last few years with the revolution in the gin sector and now lots of talk about the trends that we are seeing emerging with rum. Given this you would be forgiven if you thought that Whisky is being left behind, but far from it. In the 2023 JOHN BARLEYCORN AWARDS, known for rewarding excellence in the spirits industry, RAMPUR ASAVA Indian Single Malt Whisky was awarded Best World Whisky. The blind-tasting combat was judged by Barleycorn Society members, including Clay Risen, Wayne Curtis, Zach Johnston, Susan Reigler, and John McCarthy.

Rampur’s innovative approach to the ageing process distinguishes it from other world whiskies. The Himalayas provide polar opposite climate conditions throughout the year with the flavour of the famous Indian Summer giving Rampur an added dimension and depth. The malt interacts extensively with the cask, resulting in maturation almost four times faster than in Scotland. 

We have also seen younger drinkers exploring drinks like the ELIJAH CRAIG OLD FASHIONED The ingredients are 50ml Elijah Craig Small Batch Bourbon | 10ml Simple Syrup | 3 Dashes of Bitters | Garnish - 1 Twist of Orange Peel and 1 Cocktail Cherry (optional) and its easy to make. Combine ingredients in a mixing glass with ice. Stir until chilled and strain over a large ice cube. Garnish with a twist of orange.
