Platinum Jubilee Part 2

"Thank You Day this year is all about neighbours connecting with each other, to say thank you to HM The Queen and to each other. Where better to come together than at your local pub"
Less than a week to go now until the double bank holiday weekend.

This is the second of a two-part feature where we look at a few more things to consider for your pub during the celebrations.

To start with, why not try the cocktail favoured by the monarch herself? The Dubonnet cocktail has reportedly been a favourite of the Queen's for decades, so shaking up a batch of these undeniably classy cocktails is the perfect way to pay homage to her this year.

You can also combine your Jubilee festivities with Thank You Day on Sunday 5 June. Brendan Cox, Co- Founder of the Together Coalition and Thank You Day, said: “Thank You Day this year is all about neighbours connecting with each other, to say thank you to HM The Queen and to each other. Where better to come together than at your local pub?”

There is also a beer you can serve on Thank You Day. The Thank brew from the Good Beer Co is a limited edition 3.5% ABV beer with all profits going towards Ukrainian refugees arriving in the UK and community groups across the country.

Finally, Horlicks and Aimia Foods have taken a twist on a classic Victoria Sponge by creating a ‘Cake Shake’ recipe. To create this recipe: Place 200ml of milk, 3 heaped tsp of Horlicks, 1 scoop of vanilla ice cream, and 20ml of 1883 syrup into a blender and blitz at full speed. Once smooth, pour the shake into a traditional milkshake glass or takeaway cup, topping with whipped cream, fresh strawberries and a drizzle of 1883 mixed berry (grenadine) syrup to finish.
